Make a collection of three Risograph prints.
Three designs, 90 copies... all analogue - no computers!
 
Included:
- Swatch Book of Underbank Studios Riso colours & combinations
- Practical printing guide PDF written and designed by Heather
- Paper for the prints and drawing during course, inks, tracing paper and drawing / collaging / painting materials to use.
 
At the end of the course you will have made the following with Heather’s support:
 
Two colour print, A4, in an edition of 30 (30 copies).
 
Another Two colour print, A4, in an edition of 30 (30 copies)
 
Two colour A3 print, in an edition of 30 (30 copies).
 
Week 1:
A short introduction to basics of riso, layering and blending from Heather. We will then talk through the ideas for your designs, and Heather will suggest some image making tools which would compliment your idea and be suitable for risograph printing. Finishing the session with some thumbnail sketches / brainstorming of your designs.
 
Week 2:
Getting stuck in! Drawing, collaging or painting your designs onto tracing paper and refining them with Heather's guidance on layering, opacity and colour blending. We will be testing some printing techniques here, some/most participants will be ready to print their first layer by this week.
 
Week 3:
Finishing off creating your tracing paper designs, testing out print techniques, and printing the first layers of your designs.
 
Week 4:
Printing the Second layers of your designs, and continuing to work on any unfinished designs.
 
Week 5:
Printing the Final layers of your designs, then finishing off with editioning and signing your collection.
 
Totalling to a huge 90 prints to take home, using 3 different designs.
