Saturday 12th April 2025 
Make a visually striking looped animation using Risograph printing techniques, in one day.
No computers! … Just a sneaky phone will be involved to record your moving image at the end. 
 
This course is beginner friendly! & suitable for individuals with any level or type of experience.
 
Included:
- Paper for the printing element of course
- Inks, tracing paper and drawing materials to use on the day. 
- Plant based lunch & refreshments

At the end of the course you will have made the following with Heather’s support:
 
- Tests & rough frames for the moving image
- Risograph Printed frames in two colour layers
- Your own Risograph moving image; GIF a.k.a a very short ‘looped animation’.
 
Step 1: Riso introduction 
A short introduction to basics of risograph printing, including an overview of layering and blending from Heather. We will then talk through the ideas for your animation & start sketching. Templates for your animation stills will be provided.
 
Step 2: Frames 
Continuing drawing, painting, collaging or painting your designs onto paper & tracing paper. As well as refining them with Heather's guidance on layering, opacity and colour blending. Some participants may be ready to print their first layer by this point. 
 
Step 3: Printing & Refining 
Finishing off creating your frames, and printing the first layers of your designs. Testing the moving image,  by recording on our phones. 
 
Step 4: Printing & Refining
Printing the Second colour layer of your animation stills. 
 
Step 5:
Finally recording the animation frames on your phone using stop motion techniques. 
 
*The ticket cost will cover all needed for the workshop; drawing, and printing materials including paper.
 
You will also be provided with a plant based lunch at 2:30pm during our halfway interval. 
Refreshments such as tea & coffee throughout.
